what i have learned from this project?
from this project i have learned a lot about stop motion videos, i now understand how long it takes to create a single short scene and how hard it is to maintain the models in good condition.
 i have also found out a lot about the software i used, iStopMotion and iMovie, as this is the first time i have used these programs i have had to spend about 5-10 minutes figuring out the basics but i know them now and it would be much easier to do if i was asked to do it again.

I finished my animation, i had to change the story as i had little time left and i had to make a new character, but its better than nothing.

Arts award event

The event i will be reviewing is a concert from a band called 'sleeping with sirens'  this took place at the 02 academy in Newcastle. the venue was small and there wasn't any seats but the atmosphere was really cool. most of the people there were between 16 and 20. The music was all mainly rock but there was some that was more like pop as well.

there was also some merchandise on sale, such as many different t-shirts and some wrist bands, i bought a wrist band, and my brothers both bought different t-shirts. I still where my wrist band now over a year later.
The music was loud and kinda hurt my ears but that just makes it better, if i just wanted to listen to there music i could have just sat at home and went on youtube. it was a fantastic experience and i would love to do it again.
one of my favorite parts about the concert was when they started spraying water guns over everyone in the front of the hall. the only part i didn't like was the waiting, there was about 1 hour of waiting before they came out. even though the wait was so long, the atmosphere was very lively and everyone was still having lots of fun. they played for about 1 hour - 1 hour 30 mins

There were two other bands there before SWS came out, these were 'the word alive' and 'our last night'. these were okay  but were not great.

the band members include:

Did they put on a good performance?
the concert was fantastic, the songs were performed awesomely and the atmosphere was always very ecstatic, so even during the time before they came out there was never a dull moment. i think the mixture of songs to audience interaction was really spot on and with this being my first concert, the impressions i got were all i could ask for and more.

This is my finished video, i had to make the story different because i didn't have a  lot of time left to make the full video i wanted in the beginning.

Evaluation

Im happy with the outcome of my video but i know i could've done much better. Whilst making the video the art i enjoyed the most was creating the characters. this experience has taught me how to use the 'iMovie' editing software and also how to use 'iStopMotion' to film the video. The only problem i had was me not showing up to enough lessons. If I was ever to do this again i would change everything thing, the plot wasn't very good and the film itself was very jumpy as it was rushed. the only thing i would change about the characters is that i would clean them up and ad some new ones

silver arts award - interviews

All of media students have been ask to produce something for the silver/bronze arts award. We can do anything from poster to video to animation. For the arts award I will be a producing video. The video will consist of multiple interviews with other people who have done arts award. Because I have had a few weeks away from college, my original group has finished their project so I was put into the only other group that had not finished. I am working with David Hall. This group would usually have Matheus Braga and Daniel Thorburn but they are both absent. Even with this burden, it shouldn’t be too difficult to complete.

I will be holding the camera whilst David does the interviews. He will be asking them a number of questions about their arts award project such as:

1. What are you doing for your silver/bronze arts award project?

2. What was you favourite feature of your silver/bronze arts award project?

3. Would there be anything different about your project if you could do it again?

4. Was there any problems that you had whilst producing your work if so what was it and how did you fix it?

Audio

the sound i  used for my animation was called Sephiroth. i was composed by Peter Anderson. I took it into i movie and put it over the top of my animation and mad it fade out at the end.

background

I have taken a background image of a fantasy world off the internet. I took this image into Photoshop and Printed it out in A3 size to use for my animation background.

Unit 2 Arts Leadership

In the next unit, i will be in a group with Jodie Cole and Stephen Clark. we will be doing graphic design. We will be creating a poster, my postion will be the arts director.

today i've created a dagger and a sword for my main characters, i will start animating next week

BBC jobs

runner - to be a runner you dont need any qualifications or experience. all they do is pass messages around the work place and get food and drink for everyone. they will work at any time you need.  a runner will earn around £400 a week.

today i've created some weapons for my characters, one of them got a spear and two of them will be getting swords

bbc newcastle visit.

last week, my class went to BBC Newcastle and we explored a lot of the building including the news rooms. we were shown how the whole business works and got the chance to listen to some presenters and ask them some questions.

today i added more to my storyboard and developed my idea on how it will turn out

i have chosen the theme for my animation, it will be the monster i created joined by two small people and they will be fighting a devil. This battle will take place in a colosseum (images will be added next week).
